Solar & Storage Sites, Done the Straightforward Way

RPS Energy works one-on-one with landowners across New York, New Jersey and New England to turn their land into solar and battery storage projects, with the choice to sell or lease.

Sell or Lease

Most developers only offer a ground lease. RPS gives landowners a choice.

Sell: subdivide and sell the project site to RPS for one upfront payment. RPS takes on the long-term landlord role, handles the subdivision with your town, and uses a simple agreement of under 20 pages.

Lease: keep your land and earn steady lease payments for 25 to 30 years.

Good sites are typically 5+ acres for solar or 2+ acres for battery storage, near three-phase power lines or a substation.

Why a Small Firm

You deal directly with the owner. Founder Scott Howard handles every call himself, on his own mobile number, and he or one of his trusted teammates can be on site within 24 hours.

Our interests are aligned with yours: RPS is only paid when you are.

Less bureaucracy means projects move faster, which matters more than ever as federal incentives for solar wind down.

Once a site is secured, we partner with experienced developers and capital providers to finance and build the project.

We never give up on a project. If a capital provider or strategic partner tires of a long interconnection process or permitting period, RPS often bolsters the project with additional financing and brings in partners with a fresh perspective.
